Snowshoe, Sled and Soak!

Top 10 November Activities in the 'Boat

As the backdrop of golden leaves turns to frosty white evergreens, the peaceful transition from fall to winter has arrived. Steamboat is currently under a winter weather advisory, with over a foot of snow gently falling from the sky so far. With the ski season just a few weeks away, the snow is welcomed to help create a solid base for the resort to open. The mountain crews are also diligently getting ready for opening day, slated for December 1st.

Now is the time to think about an upcoming winter ski trip to the 'Boat. Keeping safety and Covid-19 in mind, it might be fun to think outside the box for non-traditional vacation times. Weekdays or non-busy weekends (January, with the exception of Martin Luther King Day, and February, with the exception of Presidents Day) tend to be slower times to visit Steamboat. January and February usually offer low crowds with wide open spaces to naturally social distance from other skiers and riders.

There are plenty of lodging options to check out at www.steamboat.me, along with some fun suggestions of things to do. If traveling in the next few weeks, keep in mind the ski area is not yet open; however, there are still an abundance of winter activities to lure you into a winter wonderland. From gentle snow walks, mountain hikes, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing to good old-fashioned sled riding, there is plenty to enjoy. See my top 10 list below for November activities in the 'Boat.
